Welcome to the KAHS Robotics Club

Why robotics?  If you have any interest in robotics, engineering, computer science, programming, business, video, CAD, meeting new people, competing like crazy! Then this is the place for you!  The KAHS Robotics club members participate in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Tech Challenge (FTC Team 14436 Roaring Robotics) and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC Kingman FIRST Robotics Team 60), two different FIRST high school robotics programs, b8’ut all part of the FIRST family.

FTC Team 14436 is made up of students from KAHS and is open to any  KAHS student in grades 9-12.  Each year, students design, build, and program a 18” x 18” x 18”  robot to compete in a ‘complex engineering problem’ designed  as a game. Play occurs on a 12’ x 12’ field with  an alliance partner. The robot solutions are amazing!

Kingman FIRST Robotics Team 60 is a community team made up of members from KAHS, KHS, Lee Williams, and home schooled students. Each year, team members build a new 120 pound robot to compete on a 27’ x 54’ field. Once again, the challenge is to design and build  robot solutions to complex engineering problems disguised as a game.  The hardest fun you’ll ever do!

But that is not all!  Robotics is not just about the robot!  Students can explore CAD (Computer Aided Design), business, public relations, photography, and videography and animation. Both teams in the club work hard at promoting FIRST and STEM in our community and beyond.  We volunteer in clean city pickups, Cancer Fair Set Up, and at FLL (FIRST Lego League) and FLL Jr summer camps. We promote robotics at the Mohave County Fair, local schools, the Kingman Club for Youth, whoever wants to see our robots!  WE try to promote an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

Team 14436 Roaring Robotics meets after school at Kingman Academy High School.  Please contact either mentor Celeste Lucier  or mentor BJ Maticic  for time and dates.

Kingman FIRST Robotics meets in the evenings at Kingman High School in Room G116 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 pm, and currently, Saturdays from 1-7 pm.
